Privacy Policy

Treasured (“the app”) is a private journal and prayer app. It is designed so that what you write never leaves your device.

What stays on your device

Everything you write in the app — journal entries, prayer requests and their updates, the people you add or mention, and the app’s analysis of your entries — is stored only on your device, in an encrypted database. The encryption key is kept in your device’s secure keychain (iOS) or keystore (Android).

The app’s analysis of your entries (noticing people, themes, and possible prayer requests) runs entirely on your device, using a language model stored on your device. Your writing is never sent to us or to any server.

We cannot see, read, recover, or access your journal.

What the app downloads

If you choose to, the app downloads an on-device language model file from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is a one-way download of the model itself; nothing you have written is sent. Hugging Face may receive standard request information (such as your IP address) as part of serving the download, under its own privacy policy.

The Bible text (Berean Standard Bible, public domain) is included in the app and needs no download. If you choose another translation (Chinese, Spanish, French or Portuguese), the app downloads that Bible file from this website (hconklin24.github.io, hosted by GitHub). As with the model, this is a one-way download; nothing you have written is sent, and GitHub may receive standard request information (such as your IP address) under its own privacy policy.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase receipts from the store. It does not receive your name, email, or anything you write in the app. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

What we do not do

• We do not collect analytics or usage tracking.
• We do not show ads.
• We do not sell or share data. We have none to share.
• We do not use your writing to train AI models.

Backups, export, and deletion

• Export: you can export your journal as a text or backup file from Settings. You choose where that file goes. Once exported, the file is under your control and is not encrypted by the app.
• Device backups: on iOS, an encrypted device backup (iCloud or computer) may include your encrypted journal and its key, so it can be restored to a new device. On Android, the app’s data is excluded from system backups; use Export and Restore to move your journal.
• Deletion: “Delete everything” in Settings permanently erases your journal, its encryption key, and downloaded models from your device. Uninstalling the app also removes them.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Safety

If an entry suggests you may be in danger, the app shows crisis resources on your device. This check happens on your device; nothing is reported or sent anywhere.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and describe the change in the app’s release notes.
